About this collection
Floor Lamps
A floor lamp fills a corner no ceiling light or table lamp quite reaches, without taking up an inch of surface space. Our collection at The Light Heritage includes a hand-finished Japanese rice-paper Akari-style lantern alongside fabric and natural wood designs. Choose a rice-paper Akari-style lantern for a soft, diffused glow, a wood-based reading lamp for a natural accent, or a modern minimalist design with dimmable LED and adjustable colour temperature. Place one beside the sofa in a living room, in a cosy reading corner, a bedroom or a home office, for warmth and character exactly where you need it.
See our Living Room Lighting and Home Office Lighting collections, or check our Bestsellers, where our rice-paper floor lamp is one of our most-loved pieces. Every floor lamp ships with free UK delivery.
What is an Akari-style floor lamp?
It's a tall, lantern-style design inspired by traditional Japanese paper lanterns, using a soft rice-paper shade over a light frame for a warm, diffused glow rather than a direct beam.
Where should a floor lamp go in a living room?
Beside a sofa or armchair for reading light, in an empty corner to balance the room, or next to a console table where a table lamp won't fit. A floor lamp adds height without using any surface space.
Is a floor lamp enough light on its own?
A floor lamp works best as accent or task light alongside a ceiling light rather than replacing it entirely. Layering the two gives a room both even ambient light and a warmer glow in the evening.
