Ribbed glass, rated for outdoors

The lantern is built from an aluminium and iron frame around panels of vertically ribbed glass, which breaks the light into soft vertical lines rather than letting the bulb glare. A sloped cap sheds rain and the IP54 rating covers splashing from any direction, so it can take a wall exposed to the weather. The brown body is warmer than a flat black and weathers well against brick and render.
